Unified effort to stop online identity theft
There's a huge collaborative effort underway involving members from commercial enterprise, government, academia and law enforcement to put a stop to identity theft. The newly created Center for Identity Management and Information Protection will be focused on creating good data-sharing policy as well as becoming the main point of reference for information on fighting online fraud. The goal is to create a comprehensive plan to tackle the issue. Some big names are on board to make it happen including IBM, the Secret Service and Carnegie Mellon University.
