United States named biggest spam producer in world
It's no surprise that the United States is No. 1 on many lists, but this one is a painful headache. Security firm Sophos said the United States was responsible for nearly 16 percent of all spam received between April and June this year--one in every six junk emails.
The United States was followed closely by Brazil, which produced 11 percent. Far behind Brazil was Turkey with just over 5 percent.
What can the United States do about all this? President Obama understands the threat of overseas cybercrime and has put in place experts to ratchet up cybersecurity protections on government and private websites.
