Trust and open-mindedness are important CIO traits
CIOs are sometimes viewed as a drain on the organization, costing significant money but providing limited value. While nothing could be further from the truth, that perception lingers, and that's bad for everyone. To change that perception, CIOs must open their eyes to the way that people work today, accepting technologies that younger workers want to use, like Skype and Instant Messaging. Getting the job done also requires giving up some control and trusting just a little more. Standing in the way can move you one step closer to the door--and it won't do much for your company's bottom line, either.
