Treatment plant subject to hacker risk
In what could likely be the start of a new homeland security risk, hackers may have gained access to the computer and network systems of a water treatment plant in Pennsylvania; the FBI is currently investigating the incident. It seems that an employee's laptop was compromised while hooked up to the Internet and hackers were able to plant a virus and spyware on the system. While no malicious activity was found within the plant's operations or systems, officials say that hackers could have caused some serious damage by tinkering with chemical levels in the water.
