Time to limit user access

If you didn't pay attention to the SANs Institute's Top Internet Security Attack Targets listing last week, you could be in for a boatload of security headaches. If you haven't already done it, one expert recommends moving to what he terms a "least privilege" environment to shore up security. CTO Marco Peretti, at security firm Beyond Trust, says that IT leaders need to get a good grip on user access controls, rights and permissions to stave off increasing security risks. Another good practice he recommends is limiting, or even restricting the use of active code such as JavaScript and ActiveX in browser applications.
