The value of running a CIO blog
Do you or any of your IT management staff have a blog up and running? If not, there's no better time to kick it off, says a fellow CIO, as the communications effort can help you in more ways than one. They key is to have a strategy upfront and specific goals in mind that you hope the blog will help IT achieve. Stay away from what you want to talk about, says one expert, and focus on what your reader base (customers, users, staffers) need to hear from you and can learn from you as an IT leader. The worst thing you can do is make the blog your own personal pulpit.
