The first big step in services-oriented architecture is determining that it's a strategy that will work well for your enterprise. The second, and obviously more burdensome, step is figuring out just how to deploy the technology. Adoption statistics show that SOA is gaining favor and that the promised benefits of faster application deployment and greater flexibility are coming to fruition. Yet there is great disparity when it comes to what is the best strategy for implementation: 26 percent of enterprises polled believe a mixed approach, featuring multiple vendor pieces, is best, while 23 percent say one solution from one vendor is the best way to deploy.
