Technology promises to help citywide networks
The past year has been chock full of news about cities going wireless--from Philadelphia to San Francisco and everywhere in between. And the projects have been full of surprises, with city tech organizations underestimating nodes, access requirements and finding deploying good network architecture not as easy as initially thought. One vendor believes it has the solution to making citywide networks a breeze to plug in place. Wavion Networks claims to have developed silicon and software that boost transmission distance of the WiFi signal and prevent signal loss.
