Ask a few tech leaders what's on their wish list for the holiday season and you will likely hear everything from a bigger budget to Star Trek-like wireless systems that will bring an end to complaints about poor service quality and dropped calls. One would love to initiate his own personal war against spam and spyware, while another would boost identity protection barriers. As one CIO envisions, it'd be a great world if he could only build an open source, Microsoft-like desktop environment.
