Symantec sues Microsoft on patent allegations
A security vendor has launched an intellectual property lawsuit against Microsoft, and if it takes root it's likely that Vista won't be appearing early next year for distribution. Symantec claims that Microsoft has violated a contract signed back in 1996, including a slew of allegations, from breach of contract to patent infringement, related to both the upcoming operating system and Microsoft's Longhorn system. Symantec is demanding a jury trial and says the suit was filed after a year of discussion over the issues.
