Survey: Teleworker productivity is high, but employers are distrustful
According to a new survey of 1,200 managers and employees by Mitel, more than 40 percent of teleworkers believe they are more productive than those working in offices, while 21 percent of employers don't believe home workers are working hard enough. Over one-third of managers believe teleworkers take time to conduct personal activities, and another 30 percent believe employees use the time to tend to their social lives. But 68 percent of employees believe that working at home makes them more flexible, enabling them to be more productive. 28 percent indicate that they end up working longer hours when working from home. Eighteen percent of employees indicated a wish to work at home two days a week, and 55 percent believe it to be an acceptable option for any level.
