As technology becomes more important to the business process, more senior managers are making room at the table for IT executives, according to an online survey of 175 CIOS from around the world, taken by the Center for CIO Leadership. The survey found that CIOs are considered an essential part of business organizations and their strategic decisions. According to the survey, 69 percent of respondents indicated that they have a significant involvement in strategic decision-making. There is an added value when CIOs are involved in the top business levels, according to the survey. Those CIOs involved in the decision-making process show a higher level of IT-enabled business model innovation.
