Sun pushes out Java Runtime fix
Add Sun Microsystems to the list of big tech titans busy pushing out product fixes this month. Sun has released a patch tied to issues with its Java Runtime Environment. According to the vendor the flaws could allow hackers to get control of a PC or system via an unauthorized Java applet. Once in, attackers could gain access to write and read local files and even executive applications on the system. The security issue was initially reported by an unidentified researcher through the Zero Day Initiative program.
