Sun debuts multilingual platform

Today marks the release of Sun's Java Platform Standard Edition 6 (Java SE 6), an application development platform that offers up support for other scripting languages. Two years in the making, Java SE 6 will likely be warmly embraced by developers eager to meld Java with languages including Ruby, JavaScript, PHP, and Python. The vendor is calling the multilingual platform an "extremely significant release," that should propel greater platform adoption.
