Study claims adoption rate for 802.11n unprecedented

A web-based study completed by IT professionals from some 226 companies has nearly one-third of enterprises indicating that they will be migrating to WLAN networks based on 802.11n within the next 12 months. The majority of these companies have upwards of 1,000 employees, with 25 percent having more than 10,000 staff. The trend of companies migrating to controller-based WLAN architecture or planning to is most pronounced in larger companies, according to the study's author, Rick Blum. Mr. Blum, the director of strategic marketing for the BT consulting group, also noted that this rate of adoption for a standard that has yet to be ratified is unprecedented.
