State CIO quits over lack of tech spend
Massachusetts's top tech leader, CIO Louis Gutierrez, has resigned from his post over the fact that state leaders aren't putting enough money and resources into necessary IT endeavors. Named to the post last January, Gutierrez has been a huge advocate for the state's decision to use standards-based document formats, and while that's still moving ahead, several other IT efforts have been effectively squashed thanks to the legislature's decision not to pass a tech project bond bill.
