Spotlight: Leading web browsers face off

A new scorecard, featured on sister publication FierceCIO:TechWatch, shows how the top five web browsers compare on a variety of metrics. As the battle for users grows more intense, the browsers have ushered in new features and ironed out old kinks, giving Internet users plenty of great options to pick from.

In the past year, Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) and Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) have continued to corral more Internet users with Chrome and Safari, respectively. In the process, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft's (NASDAQ: MSFT) Internet Explorer have seen their shares of the market decline, though between the two of them, they still command over three quarters of the market.
