The recent data theft at the Veteran's Administration, in which confidential information on over 20 million veterans has gone missing, is prompting congressional lawmakers to refocus on pushing data protection legislation ahead. Specifically the new laws would force companies to report data breaches and data thefts much quicker than they do currently and put protective mandates in place.
