Spammer gets big jail sentence
The increased attention to spamming, and the devastating effect of data theft, is clearly impacting criminal penalties for those caught and convicted. An Arkansas judge just gave a spammer eight years in jail for what federal investigators deem the largest data theft yet to date. Scott Levine was convicted of breaking into the largest depository of customer information and downloading gigabytes of data.
