Should you embrace cloud computing or ignore it?
Everyone is buzzing about cloud computing. Doing business in the clouds is almost a no brainer for startups because cloud computing allows companies to quickly test their business plan with very little investment.
"Cloud computing has changed the game for entrepreneurs--the greatest part about it is that on launch day, you have the confidence that you scale to the world," Brad Jefferson, CEO of New York-based Animoto, told NetworkWorld.
Here are a few reasons to like cloud computing:
- It's a way to save money.
- It is very agile for a low cost.
- It gives you faster product development.
But there are also some reasons to be wary of cloud computing. Here are a few:
- Its bandwidth could bust your budget.
- App performance could suffer.
- Your data might not be cloud worthy.
Despite the drawbacks, cloud computing appears to be quite an enticing option. Plenty of businesses are hopping on this train. Should you?
