Security woes will only get worse
If you thought the past year or so has been tough when it comes to IT security, it's nothing compared to what industry analysts say tech organizations will be facing this year and next. The Burton Group, an IT industry research firm, predicts "a marked increase in sinister security threats." This includes intentional criminal attacks taking place internally and more collusion between internal hackers and outside hackers. According to Daniel Blum, senior VP and research director, it's not a pretty picture, given that while Internet-based criminals are growing in strength and collaborating more effectively, law enforcement is still pretty weak. And that means more attacks should be expected, Blum says.
