The version 2.0 beta of Secunia's Personal Software Inspector (PSI) is now available, which has been upgraded with the capability to download and apply patches from multiple vendors. Currently available in open beta, the PSI was created to enable users and system administrators to quickly check for missing security updates or application patches, considered a significant vector used by cybercriminal to hack into computers. Due to the large number of update mechanisms, it is not inconceivable that some updates are missed out inadvertently--even for the most diligent of users.
