Second layoff wave hits Sun's workforce
As part of its hefty restructuring effort, Sun Microsystems is making the second wave of staffing cuts, slashing nearly a 1,000 jobs across its wide span of operations. It's all part of a staff reduction effort that will total 4,000 to 5,000 before the year's done. Financial experts say the revamp effort could produce the same turnaround result that Xerox made happen a few years back.
