Reputed bot fizzles out
Thanks, perhaps, to dire warnings from the Department of Homeland Security, or maybe Microsoft's public plea to patch, patch, patch, the impact of the latest bot worm hasn't yet reached expected levels of destruction, according to security experts. The expected bot attack, courtesy of the MS06-040 flaw (also known as Wargbot), has been minimal in nature thus far and isn't expect to mushroom. Whether that's because hackers haven't caught on or because everyone heeded the early warnings is hard to say.
