Recession may cause data center disruptions

Data center managers are worried that the recession will have a big impact on their operations. The Association for Computer Operations Management (AFCOM) found that nearly half of the data center managers they surveyed expected cutbacks and believed that disruptions were possible because of the cost-cutting and reduced investments in security, reports ComputerWorld.

There were also concerns that the costs of power and cooling would put pressure on their enterprises and make it difficult for them to keep pace. In addition, data center managers are concerned that layoffs and buyouts of experienced workers could diminish data center skills and hinder operations.
