Re-defining the CTO role
Way back, the defining line between a CIO and a CTO was that the latter was the "tech visionary" for the corporation. But today, thanks to increasing tech challenges and an increasing drive by corporate leaders to have tech fuel every business initiative, the CTO's role is morphing and CIOs need to play a part in redefining and rewriting the job description to fit the organization's needs. For many companies that means the CTO should be leading the charge on the next IT transformation that's bound to take place.
