Qwest provides fiber, Ethernet network to CoSentry
Cloud and managed services company CoSentry has made a deal with Qwest to provide fiber and an Ethernet network to connect its diverse data center sites.
Qwest will interconnect CoSentry's four data centers located in Kansas City, Mo.; Omaha, Neb.; Papillon, Neb. and Sioux Falls, S.D. with Qwest Metro Optical Ethernet (QMOE) service. This will help CoSentry deliver data centers, hosting and cloud services to its customers. As a completely meshed Ethernet network, Qwest said it can deliver speeds of up to 1 Gbps and will connect back to its nationwide IP backbone.
Since Qwest is extending its IP fabric directly into the CoSentry data centers, CoSentry's data center customers will be able to connect to the Internet directly and avoid paying local loop fees.
