Phishers adopt multi-prong strategy for data theft
As if we needed more evidence that malcontents are getting more sophisticated in their online criminal activity, we're now learning that phishers often use stolen data to gain even greater access to information which they then use to steal money from unsuspecting victims. The recent AT&T Web site attack, where confidential information on nearly 20,000 customers was compromised, was apparently just the first step in an intricate scheme by phishers to access more than just credit card data.
