Paper airline tickets are history

Here's another example that the paper-based world is disappearing. The International Air Transport Association, the trade group representing 240 airlines, said that air carriers will start using only electronic tickets on June 1. And like many other paper products, airline tickets will be a thing of the past. "It's about simplifying the business," said Steve Lott, the association's spokesman. The change will make it easier and cheaper for airlines to issue tickets, he said. And that is a good lesson for all sorts of businesses still engulfed in the paper world.
