With the advent of Vista comes a fresh new battle for the PC user space as Apple gears up for the release of its newest operating system, which will compete head-to-head with the latest Windows iteration early next year. Analysts believe that Apple's Leopard system has a fighting chance to grab some market share, primarily due to a new application called Boot Camp that will give users the best of both worlds; the stability and security of Apple's Unix-based platform as well as the ability to run Windows when needed. Apple's new Intel machines can also run third-party applications like Parallels Desktop, which allow users to run Windows and OS X side-by-side. If these new applications take off as predicted, it could be the dawn of a whole new era for the Apple machine.
