Imagine getting a call from lawyers saying that they need a few million pages of data from your server files and storage farms. That's exactly the situation one firm is facing as it fights off tax fraud charges. It also brings the issue of content-addressed storage (CAS) to the forefront as it provides a way to retrieve data quickly and easily by an array-assigned address, rather than by a physical address. But while it may seem to be a good solution, there are some issues you need to be aware of before throwing that old storage system out the window, including knowing how it works and what the flaws are in using such an approach.
