Open-source gaining steam for internal development
Although most companies still rely on vendor-created software to develop key internal systems, a growing number of organizations are branching out into the world of open-source, where the community weighs in early and often on how to use and improve code. Sharing code, thoughts, plans, projects and critiques is a daily occurrence and can greatly improve the efficiency of internal project development. What's more, the constant feedback keep bugs to a minimum, and the cost is much, much lower.
