Novell, Microsoft seal a Linux pact
There's little denying the commitment that Microsoft is making to Novell these days, with the signing of a $308 million deal to sell and market SUSE Enterprise Linux products. A Securities and Exchange Commission filing details the five-year partnership that will foster Microsoft and Novell products running alongside each other--a boon for enterprises. Yet the deal, which involves patent issues as well as the requirements of the General Public License, is raising some concerns.
