It seems that every week there's a new announcement about a citywide wireless network going out to bid or taking its first step toward development. And while one of the first projects--the Philadelphia effort--did offer up insight on the challenges and hurdles, most of the news lately has been positive. Yet some experts note that going wireless within a city government arena isn't easy, might not be quick and is definitely going to cost some bucks. There are also those unexpected issues, like the vendor who pulled out of a California city project, and sometimes the network just doesn't work the way its supposed to.
