More IT governance needed, say CIOs
January 18, 2007 — 8:01pm ET
A very big majority--over 90 percent--of tech leaders admit tech projects are not being monitored appropriately and important resources are going to waste due to the failing systems. That's according to a 2007 census from CIO Connect, an industry user group. What's even more astonishing is just nine percent of CIOs take action when a project derails, crashes and burns. Experts say the answer is establishing good solid project governance from the start, and working to boost the connection between IT efforts and the business strategy.
