Microsoft outlines open source strategy

Most recently it was Novell sprouting off about how open source was the future. Now it seems Microsoft is seeing the Linux light as well. CEO Steve Ballmer told a Silicon Valley gathering that his company has put open source technology on the list of the top three focus points going forward, and he does believe that Microsoft's technologies can beat open source when it comes to total cost of ownership. He also announced that Microsoft is intent on building a better high-performance cluster solution than what Linux offers today.
