Microsoft debuts draft PatchGuard workarounds

Claiming that it's fulfilling its promise to help third-party security vendors integrate their tools with Vista's PatchGuard system, Microsoft has released some beta application programming interfaces (APIs) for accessing the Vista kernel. The vendor is asking for scrutiny and feedback on the draft APIs. No word yet on what McAfee and its competitors think of the news.
