Meltdown may increase tech jobs
There could be a silver lining to the Wall Street meltdown. While no one really knows how the financial crisis will affect IT in the long term, some experts are predicting IT jobs in some areas may increase. These experts say there will be new regulations intended to curtail exotic lending practices in financial institutions and monitor a host of financial transactions that have managed to escape oversight.
And it will fall to IT to create new compliance technology systems to track, audit and record key regulatory data and business dealings. So despite all the economic turmoil and heartache, there is some good news for those involved in creating, selling and manning the new systems going forward.
