McNealy steps down from Sun helm

Just two months ago, Scott McNealy said he'd stay at the helm of Sun as long as the company's board wanted him steering the ship at the fourth-largest server manufacturer. But McNealy is now stepping down into the role of chairman, with president Jonathan Schwartz stepping up to take the CEO role. Sun's had a rough few financial years, losing market share to competitors like Dell and dropping billions in revenue. While it's been busy buying up small niche tech players to shore up its product line, Sun's also looking to trim head count and close offices to stem the flow of losses.
