McAfee CEO: Microsoft competition will be beneficial

When a tech titan like Microsoft takes a big step into your industry, it's completely understandable that leading vendors would take a deep breath and start trying to figure out what, if any, competitive action would be necessary to stay ahead of the Redmond giant. Yet security firm McAfee's CEO, George Samenuk, isn't too worried about Microsoft's foray into security products and services. The vendor, who is already facing competitive challenge from Symantec, believes more competition is a good thing. And, as he points out, Microsoft might not have the consumer-confidence level to make for a thriving security product line.
