Malware now targeting the Mac OS
May 4, 2006 — 8:01pm ET
If your organization is Mac friendly, it's clearly time to boost security and put some decent resources on ensuring the fleet is safe from increasing threats. A recent study by security vendor McAfee states that security issues on the Mac operating system have jumped three times as fast as Windows, and that Apple products are becoming a major malware target. Vulnerabilities have spiked 228 percent in just two years, while Microsoft's Windows has seen just a 73 percent increase in attacks.
