Malware attacks 57,000 websites
You may be breathing a sigh of relief that you have not been hit by malware, but don't let your guard down because there's evidence that 57,000 websites were recently compromised by malware.
Security firm ScanSafe announced last week that it had uncovered a campaign to unload malware on thousands of computers. Even if you feel safe, it's probably time to ratchet up your defenses.
ScanSafe Senior Security Researcher Mary Landesman described it as a "potent Trojan cocktail consisting of backdoors, password stealers and downloader" on the compromised webpages. She told eWeek.com it looks like the malware campaign is coming from China, but "the SQL injection is a global problem, and certainly China is also a victim of these types of attacks."
