The IT organization spends a lot of time and a lot of money collecting, sorting, and storing data, but according to a new study from Accenture, a lot of that work is not paying off for the business. The study claims that middle-level business managers spend about two hours a day searching for and grabbing data that often falls short in actual value. And it seems that IT management has it even worse--47 percent polled reportedly spend 30 percent of their workday trying to pin down information relevant to their tech jobs. The answer, say experts, lies in the promise of service-oriented architectures, which are just starting to take root in enterprises.
