The Linux operating system is steadily gaining ground for many more reasons than a potential lower cost. As pundits and experts note, the OS is just as easy to use as Windows, can provide competitive advantages other systems lack and is gripping traction from its core area of Web servers and moving into application server networks. A big reason is that the kernel is getting more stable everyday.
