The latest Trojan threat uses a fake Google tool to try and lure unsuspecting victims into clicking through for a download that actually then opens a backdoor to the user's PC. According to security vendor Surfcontrol, the scam uses the Google Toolbar web address for IE and then redirects the link to another address. If users fall for the download scheme the Trojan, W32.Ranky.FW, turns the desktop or laptop into a bot zombie. While simple in design, the Trojan is another sophisticated security risk today's IT leaders need to stay on top of, say experts.
