Laptops not as mobile as many might think

When it comes to true "mobile" computing, it seems like laptops aren't quite as mobile as you might assume. A new survey of laptop use and mobility requirements notes that laptops aren't traveling as much as some IT leaders may think they are. Market research firm MetaFacts says that most company-owned notebooks stay put in the workplace and even if they're 'on the road' they're typically sitting on desks at office locations or the hotel room desk top. The other surprising revelation is that the ubiquitous mobile device is being used for much more than work related activity--for example, laptops are three times more likely to be used for online betting activity.
