Kimberly-Clark's reasons for going VoIP

Kimberly-Clark is in the first phase of a three-year Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) project that the company estimates could save millions in phone costs. The effort includes consolidating voice traffic for the company's 200 work sites and channeling the traffic into three data centers using equipment that will change the current PBX system into VoIP gateways. Not only will the effort save the company money on voice communications, but it will also provide Kimberly-Clark the ability to integrate telephony apps with business apps--an ability the firm sees as providing them with a competitive advantage.
