IT execs are an unhappy lot
June 19, 2008 — 6:59am ET
A survey conducted by executive career and recruiting network ExecuNet found that only 53 percent of the 286 IT executives polled said they're satisfied with their current jobs--a lower happiness rating than finance executives and those in human resources, marketing, general management and sales.
Dave Opton, the founder and CEO of ExecuNet, said the dissatisfaction may be the result of IT executives not doing work that truly excites them, the general reluctance of companies to adopt leading edge technologies and the thankless nature of their roles.
