Innovation means success for CIOs
CIOs must find ways to contribute more to their companies' bottom lines, according to a new study from Gartner. To do that, CIOs must think more creatively about what they provide to the business and innovate whenever possible in seven key areas: improving business strategies, controlling the enterprise cost structure, attracting and retaining new customers, improving workforce effectiveness, boosting revenue, improving competitiveness, and using intelligence in products and services. Without finding a way to have a more significant impact on the enterprise, CIOs could become increasingly irrelevant, the study found.
