Identy theft is not cheap
It's hard to believe, but identity theft could cost you more $30,000, and that is hardly loose change, even these days. The Center for Identity Management and Information Protection (CIMIP) looked at 734 cases of identity theft investigated by the U.S. Secret Service between 2000 and 2006: 517 cases were considered as identity theft crimes. The amount of money scammed varied depending on how many people were involved. Working alone, a thief could make off with more than $22,000. Identity criminals targeted industries such as service and finance companies which were responsible for 50 percent of the thefts. Are you prepared for identity theft?
